Project Description

The Cordilleras Defensible Space Project required the removal of potential fire fuel along the perimeter of the site. ECI’s crews were able to successfully navigate hazardous site conditions, including heat, venomous snakes, poison oak, and extreme slopes. They protected critical habitat while simultaneously removing invasive plants. By working closely with the biologists on site, the ECI team was able to make modifications to support wildlife nests. They also identified rare plants that had not previously been noticed during the site inventory. This project required coordinating with multiple agencies and implementing proactive safety measures.
