Habitat restoration

Land and habitat restoration is a vital part of mitigating the very real cost of development and climate change. Habitat destruction is one of the primary factors causing species of plants and animals to be threatened with extinction. ECI is committed to finding ecological solutions to the issues that affect our world.

Invasive species management

Invasive plants are a constant threat to California’s native ecosystems. ECI has over 3 decades of experience implementing invasive plant removal projects throughout sensitive grassland, riparian, wetland, and forested ecosystems and is familiar with the regulatory framework that these projects operate within.

River & creek restoration

ECI has implemented many river and creek restoration projects throughout the Bay Area and Central Coast. We have worked on high profile waterways such as Stevens Creek, Guadalupe River, Bear Creek, San Francisco Bay outlets and San Francisquito Creek with both private and public entities.

Fire suppression & post fire recovery

From ladder fuel reduction to shaded fuel breaks, ECI is prepared to ensure your property is ready for the fire season. Our team understands the plant species, spacing, timing, and habitat types that affect your fire exposure. Utilizing natural applications, ECI has the employees and years of past experience to aid in the development and implementation of fire suppression plans. Our restoration technicians are trained in the use of chainsaws, chippers, and other forestry equipment, with the highest standards for safety and ecological health.

Erosion control

Erosion control comes in many shapes and forms. In nature, the tree canopy, fallen leaves, root systems, and healthy soil structure aid in breaking up the forces of wind and water which can displace soil. ECI has experience installing a wide breadth of best management practices that can be custom fit to your needs.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) incorporate mandatory erosion control plans ranging from filters in the drains to grading out the earth to remediate water/wind flow.

ECI has been performing design-build stream bank stabilization for many years. Our staff and crew understand the complexities of soil, hydrology, vegetation and erosion, and can provide up-to-date options for successful erosion control on your project.
