Davenport Craftsman Residence

Davenport, CA

Project Description

Conceptual Design Through Construction Installation

This craftsman style home is situated at one of the highest points in the town of Davenport. From picture frame windows one can see a gorgeous canyon vista, ocean views, and California native and pollinator attracting gardens. ECI worked with the homeowner from conceptual design through construction completion, and all materials used were locally sourced. Central Coast Wilds provided the native plants for this coastal landscape, including lupine, coffee berry, salvia, grasses, ceanothus and more.

The landscape design reflects the homeowners’ desires to have a native landscape that draws in pollinators and seamlessly connects their landscape to the canyon. The landscape features French garden inspired veggie beds, an enhanced deck viewing area, flagstone pathways, elegant retaining walls for hillside stabilization, and a dry creek bed to channel stormwater. ECI also installed a custom irrigation system with solar sync and weather sensors to optimize plant establishment and survival. All planting is WUCOLS low water approved, and irrigation is to be turned off once all plants have become established.
