Pippin Wetland Restoration – Restoration and Environmental Impact Plans

Watsonville, CA

Project Description

A comprehensive restoration plan was developed for Atkinson Pond, as required by an Environmental Impact Report approved by the County of Santa Cruz. For the project, ECI performed extensive wetland studies, which included historic imagery analysis, habitat mapping, riparian composition analysis, and invasive species mapping to provide a Conceptual Restoration Plan. This plan was then further developed to include a final Restoration Plan, and full set of construction documents. The finalized restoration plan outlined the actions to be taken within each area, plant lists, invasive exotic plant removal, mitigation monitoring and reporting requirements, including performance and success criteria. The restoration plan set included a restoration site plan, invasive exotic removal plan, planting plan, irrigation plan, site details, and specifications.
